AltDrag: Move Windows Easily on Your Netbook

Netbook’s small screen size combined with the small touchpad makes window management a nightmare. Often the user gets frustrated due to this. AltDrag is an ingenious solution for netbook users. It not only lets you to easily move a window, but also resize it, minimize it, center a window on the screen, attach a window to nearby one, and much more.

After starting up AltDrag, simply hold down the Alt key and then use your mouse to drag any window, and it doesn’t matter where in the window you click. While moving, press and hold the Shift key to make the window attach automatically to nearby ones. Alternatively, you may use the Alt + right-click combination to resize a window on default configuration. For other operations, you would need to edit the Settings text file, accessible through Options menu.

AltDrag is unobtrusive, consumes very little resources and never bothers you. It does not even have a GUI, only a tray icon. An additional feature is the ability to snap windows to each other. Just press the shift key while moving a window and it will automatically attach itself to other windows that are near.
