Recuva is a freeware data recovery program for your netbook. Recuva is developed by Piriform (makers of the popular software CCleaner). The application can help you recover files that have been “permanently” deleted, and the space where the files resides had been marked by the operating system as free space. Recuva can also be used to recover files deleted from flash/USB drives, memory cards or MP3 players.

It is able to recover lost directory structure and automatically renames files when trying to recover two files of the same name.
As compared with other file recovery applications Recuva works by looking for unreferenced data, but if the operating system has written new data over a deleted file then recovery will often not be possible.
Recuva is super-fast to install and to run. For recovering files, select the drive where the files are to be recovered. Recuva will then scan for deleted files that have been deleted, including files that you’ve emptied from your recycle bin. After checking the file’s recoverable status, Recuva will give status of each files, especially, for if it’s not, it will tell you that as well.
