Startup Inspector for Windows is a free Windows application that helps Netbook users easily manage their Windows startup applications. Users can consult with the developers online database, that can offer more information in plain English (if any, available for that startup entry). How to use Startup Inspector?

• First, Download and install Startup Inspector form here.
• Start the application using the Desktop shortcut it created or from Start Menu>Programs>Windows Startup Inspector
• Once the application loads, it provides a list of programs present in your Windows startup.
• Press the Consult button.
  Note: This feature requires Internet connection, make sure you online and allow this program to connect if your firewall asks.
• Once the process has complete, you will notice comments aside each program, and when you select a particular entry, more details regarding the entry is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
• Check each startup program’s rating. Not Recommended rating are definitely not welcome, remove it, it may be spyware, adware or even virus. Not required programs are not worth to run on startup. Rating “User’s choice” are program that provides certain feature, but if you don’t use it or rarely use it, you should remove it from startup and you can always start it manually. Star marked rating, i.e., “System Required” are usually system programs and you should leave them alone. Ratings that are question marked are not in the online database and you can contribute by adding some details, if you know about them to expand the database.
• Now, to remove any program from startup list, just Uncheck the program (click on the square box in front of each program) and click on the Apply button to confirm changes.
• Exit Startup Inspector and the next time you reboot Windows, you will see the changes you have applied.
