SyncToy is a free software from Microsoft that keeps your documents and folders in sync between your netbook, and other computer. SyncToy keeps working in the background, and whenever you change any document, it syncs it across all your machines.
Whenever I talk to someone about what they use netbook for, most of the time they tell me that they use netbook as an extension to their main computer. Netbooks are really small in size, and very cheap, so they prefer to use netbooks to carry around.
This poses one unique problem – How to keep documents on your netbook in sync with documents on your other computer, and vice versa. Some people like to store such documents and files online using services like GoAruna, so that documents can be accessed from any machine. Other option is to keep documents in sync directly between different netbook and differnt computers. SyncToy from Microsoft does exactly that.
To use SyncToy, you just install it on your netbook, and all other computers that you want to be kept in sync. Then, you select the folders from your netbook, and specify the folders from other computers that should be kept in sync.
After that, SyncToy will keep monitoring the folders that you have specifed. When you change something in any of those folders in any machine, SyncToy will sync those changes across all your machines.
SyncToy is really good, and pretty fast. SyncToy keeps working in the background. If you want to sync documents between your netbooks and other computers, SyncToy is a good free solution.
