Thumbnail Control is a freeware portable application that helps clear Windows thumbnail cache from your netbook. This application can also help you quickly change the size of thumbnails, their quality, and enable or disable caching mechanism.
Windows uses a thumbnail cache to store thumbnail images for Explorer’s thumbnail view. This speeds up the display of images as the smaller images do not need to be recalculated every time the user views the folder.
Windows stores all these information in Thumbs.db files, created locally among the images. These files can sometimes occupy a lot of disk space. You can use Thumbnail Control to control the behavior of thumbs.db files.

How to use Thumbnail Control?
You can select one of the predefined profile or use custom settings in the application. Settings can be saved for current account only or globally for device (global parameters will be used if account is not configured).
Thumbnail Control also enables you to clean up your devices from Thumbs.db files. When you select any drive, the app will scan all the folders and files and then clear the thumbnail cache for the particular drive selected. It also shows the hard disk space reclaimed due to cleaning of the cache.
Alternatively, you can also add any folders using the Add Path option. Thumbnail cache is the system database in folders with multimedia files and is used to store these multimedia thumbnails. Each folder has its own database.
Thumbnail Control is a very small application which helps you easily control Windows XP, Vista and 7′s thumbnail cache.
