Zamzar is a free web-based file conversion tool for netbook users. Zamzar supports conversion between many different file formats, and up to 100 MB in file size limit for conversion.
Users can type in a URL (such as YouTube video link) or upload one or more files (if they are all the same format) from their computer, Zamzar then converts the file(s) to another format.
It lets you convert files between all popular and not so popular formats, be it a Document, Image, Music, Video, e-Book, Compressed or CAD. You can view the long list of supported file formats here.
How to use Zamzar to convert a file?
On your favorite web browser, first open Zamzar website.
Now, you can type in a URL or upload one or more files (if they are all the same format and up to 100 MB) from your computer.
Choose the format to convert to.
Then enter your email address to receive converted file.
Click on the “convert” button and Zamzar will e-mail you a link to the converted file.
You can click on that link to download the converted file.
How to Convert and Download YouTube Videos using Zamzar?
Click on the “Download Videos” tab on the main page.
Now, Copy the website address of your YouTube video and paste it into the first text box in the left of the Zamzar tab.
Select the format you want under “convert file(s) to.” If you aren’t sure which to use, the format WMV is useful for a Windows computer since it will play in Windows Media Player.
Type in your email address in the “email” text box on the right side of the tab. Click “Convert.”
Open the email that comes from Zamzar. Click the link there to download your YouTube file.
Conclusion
Netbook under-powered processors hampers tough jobs like conversions. For them Zamzar is a savior. After clicking on “Convert,” we received the e-mail almost instantaneously. Also, the converted files were good with some small exceptions.
